Ed joined Micropen Technologies in 2004 with a mandate to grow the company. That happened and continues to happen at a steady pace. As CEO, Ed oversees corporate strategy, keeps his hand in operations management and customer relations and exercises full responsibility for corporate financial results. Prior to Micropen, Ed started two technology companies in Phoenix Arizona – Forth Research, Inc. and Axon Technologies Corporation. In between start-ups, he worked at a boutique Merger & Acquisition Company, CJK Financial, assisting mid-market companies in financing growth. Ed had a twenty year career with Digital Equipment Corporation primarily in senior manufacturing and marketing roles. Ed has a B.A. degree in History/Economics from Holy Cross College and a graduate degree from Boston College. His community interests and involvement are focused on public education and economic development in urban centers.
Eric Van Wormer
Vice President, Exxelia Ohmcraft Division
Eric is Vice President of the Exxelia Ohmcraft division of Exxelia Micropen Technologies which specializes in designing and manufacturing precision, high performance resistors. Eric joined Exxelia Micropen Technologies in 1990, fresh off the campus of Clarkson University where he received a B.S. in Computer Science. (Eric wears badge #10!) Eric was one of the first software design engineers for the Exxelia Micropen printing systems. Over the years, Eric has led, or been part of, every major corporate initiative, change and challenge. In addition, the resistor business has experienced double digit growth through his leadership.
Dr. William J. Grande
Vice President, Chief Technology Officer
Bill joined Micropen Technologies in 2004 and oversees the Company’s research, product development, and business development activities. His career spans both academic and industrial settings and includes an engineering faculty appointment at Rochester Institute of Technology and research scientist positions at Kodak, Cornell, and IITRI. An expert in microfabrication for more than 20 years, Bill has worked with a diverse range of technologies including III-V opto-electronics, integrated optics, MEMS and Microsystems. He holds dual B.S. degrees in Electrical and Chemical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, the M.S. and Ph.D in Applied and Engineering Physics from Cornell University, and the MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Vice President, Micropen Division
John joined the Micropen team in 2008 after a 24 year career in the Automotive Industry. Throughout that time he held numerous manufacturing engineering and quality assignments. John is well versed in quality management system requirements, is a certified quality engineer and a Six Sigma black belt. John holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rochester.
